My name is Balazs Cene, and I am a UX Designer and software engineer currently
living in The Hague, Netherlands. Before moving here I lived in Hungary, which is where I
happened to grow up as well.
I consider myself a designer at heart, even if my projects aren't things you would generally consider design related. I write code the way others create art: I am maximalistic with my creations, plan every step of the way and make sure whatever comes out the other side is something I can be proud of.
I am a hobbyist developer, and have a passion for user interfaces. This is part of the reason I created pytermgui, a terminal-based user interface library. It seems pretty popular, with 485+ stars at the time of writing. During the development of this project I used a lot of the methods & techniques I learnt throughout my time at the UXD course. Amongst these were various types of diverging and converging, user testing, competetive audits of the field and interviews with users and developers in related fields, just to name a few. You can see some of my highlighted strictly-UX related work in the UX tab, however pretty much all of my programming related projects go through similar phases as well, incorporating a clear and defined set of design principles, a project-specific mission statement and more.
I've worked on a parcel point finder web application for a major company in Hungary, which unfortunately didn't end up being used due to financial reasons on their side. Regardless, you can check it out here.
You can find my contacts below. I'm most reachable through email, but other methods should work as well.
Thank you for stopping by, and may you have an amazing day!
